Red-browed Finch

Emblema temporalis

A common finch of grassy areas along the east coast of Australia.

Flocks of this beautiful little bird are frequent visitors to my garden, either picking their way through the lawn or bathing in a shallow pond. They are often seen with a flock of Superb Fairy Wrens or a pair of Eastern Yellow Robins.
