Platypus – Ornithorhynchus anatinus
Long-necked Turtle – Chelodina longicollis
Both the platypus and the Common Long-necked Turtle are residents of freshwater streams of the east coast of Australia. Clean, well oxygenated water is a prerequisite for both species. Degradation of water quality is a threat to both species.
