At 1.5m the Indus River Dolphin is one of the smallest cetaceans. It is also one of the rarest. It is at great risk of extinction as a result of the damming of its river home and drowning by being caught in netting used for catching fish. The closely related Yangtze River Dolphin has recently been declared extinct after facing similar challenges.
